Oliver's Very Brief Yet Perfectly Unprofessional Book Review

It should have been at least a two-part series. - this is what I was constantly thinking about while reading and after finishing the book.

This fantasy story was captivating, with an interesting storyline, peculiar characters and an intriguing backstory.

I wanted to know more about so many of the characters. I have so many unanswered questions: Where did Morrighan come from? What are the characteristics of the different Fey races? In what ways have humans conquered their natural ancestral lands from them? How did the Science Guild and the Alchemist League form, how are they related, how much influence do they have, and through what political machinations did the city of Torvec manage to avoid being dominated by either? How was the Vaettir water sprite captured? When did they realise that elementals existed among humans? And many, many more questions.

The story intrigued me, but I want to now more.

The beautiful descriptions of the landscape, Farris's dreams and feelings, the finely polished sentences, the well-crafted charater portrayals drew me into the story and I would have liked to stay for at least the duration of one more volume.
